Business Radio X is an online publication for businesses and entrepreneurs. It syndicated all over the country. In late 2012 a friend and business partner at the time secured a spot for their segment Talent Management. With any opportunity to get the attention of potential investors or people that a deem my demographic, I will use as a platform to push whatever my current project is.
At the time this project was a service "Doboki" later rebranded to ApplyToIt. ApplyToIt is a app that allows everyday people to be recruiters and job finders for people in their community. The idea behind the app is that when people are out doing daily errands they are essentially a walking recruiter. Most non-career focused jobs advertise their available positions with a "Now Hiring" sign in the window. My thought was if I never go to the target in the next town over I'd never know they were hiring, however I'd be more than willing to drive over there for work. How does this relate to "Talent Management" considering that was the topic of discussion? I couldn't tell you but I was able to push the idea of the app on the radio show and the host seemed to be ok with it, so I never questioned it.
